Yo [Gen] Clan

I've been on and off with the Playstation Move, and now that I've seen it at £40 (UK Price) at my local store, its made my choice clear that I should buy this, because its essentially the same price as a new game.

But for everyone else who might need to buy it for normal retailer price, (an extra £20 for the UK), do you feel you want to get it, or is it just a gimmick?

Personally I think Sony should stick with its strengths, but I understand the move (<--- lol I didnt even mean for that to be a pun xD.) They're targeting the casual gamer with it, and those like that will most likely get it, but Playstation's always been about the full-on, hardcore gamers, and I'm sure that'll stay as its base

Hi guys

I recently bought the Move, and heres my verdict...

At the moment, all I've got is the starter disc, and Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition.

The starter disc has several demos, but the 1s I tend to play more are Kung Fu Rider, Start the Party and The Shoot.
Kung Fu Rider is quite a fun racing game, where you go down roads on a wheely chair, however, I find moving from left to right quite difficult.

Start the Party is very fun indeed, and is a game you need to play with your family/friends to make the most of its potential. Its funny to see your Move turn in to different objects as you play different games i.e. Painting= paint brush. A Playstation Eye picture can also be used to display your character, which is a nice touch

The Shoot has had kiddish remarks, however, I found the game quite fun. You have to shoot bits of cardboard actors on different sets whilst on rails, which means you move automatically. Again, The Shoot is best played with your family, however, its still quite fun to play as a single player game. It introduces unique mechanics, like shooting downards to send a blast, which destroys everyone on screen.

Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition
is 'ok'. Its good, but there are some flaws. The game itself is quite good, as you go around with quite accurate precision headshotting zombies. The controls are quite 'weird'. The game has you walking around, stopping then shooting. So where as some games are run and gunners, Resident Evil has you stopping each time to shoot, which can quite annoying. You also have to use the left stick to look around, so you cant swing the motion controller to see your surroundings; you have to use the left stick, which is abnormal and confusing. These small niggles can be conquered after a couple of hours play through though. Motion gestures dont always work. There are some areas which require you to dodge attacks by swinging the motion controller, which doesn't always work accurately. However, Resident Evil 5 is quite a good game if you were to have a Navigation controller (nunchuk equivalent).

I haven't really found the Move a walk in the park. Mainly because if I try to take it on a walk, it attracts attention and dogs pee on it. But also, I have encountered many issues with calibrating. Calibrating is getting the Move to work properly with Playstation Eye camera by pressing certain buttons whilst pointing the Move in specific directions.

I've only had 1 day when the Move has worked 100% good for me, but most other days, I find problems.

I.e. Pointer moves by itself, ps3 doesnt recognize my controller, pointer moves in the opposite way that I point, mainly pointing .

Over all, I'd wait for a little bit for more full games to come out, because I've found the Move a bit lacking with my low stock of Move games. Christmas seems to be a killer time to grab yourself a Move, as games such as the Sly Collection, Little Big Planet 2, Killzone 3, and Gran Turismo 5 will be released in Winter with Move support

Feel free to ask any Playstation Move questions

Well, in my opinion i think that PlayStation Move was just a fail.. I mean, they just copied the Wii/Wii Fit. And also, Wii is cheaper then PlayStation Move too, i think.

Was never a fan of the Wii, or the Kinect, so won't be a fan of the Move. Just not my thing.
